Emirates FA Cup Draw: Liverpool Draw Everton, Wolves To Face Man United

Liverpool were handed a tricky tie as they will welcome Everton to Anfield in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The draw ceremony which was held on Monday was conducted by Arsenal legend Tony Adams and former Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

Manchester United have their work cut out as they will travel to Molineaux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Current champions of the FA Cup Manchester City were handed an easy draw as they will be at home to Port Vale.

Other pairings that were thrown up by the draw show that struggling Arsenal will be at home to Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur will be guests to Middlesbrough and Chelsea will face Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.

The third round of the Emirates FA Cup will take place across the weekend of Friday 3rd January to Monday 6th January 2020.

Omeruo, Awaziem Help Relegation Threaten Leganes To Away Draw Against Deportivo Alaves

Super Eagles duo Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem were in action for Leganes who forced home side Deportivo Alaves to a 1-1 in the LaLiga on Friday night, Completesports.com reports.

Omeruo and Awaziem were on from the start of the game and saw action for 90 minutes in the colours of Leganes.

It was both players 10th league appearances for Leganes so far this season.

Martin Braithwaite opened scoring for Leganes with just one minute left in the first half.

But Leganes’ hopes of a big away win was dashed as Joselu drew Deportivo Alaves to make sure both teams shared the points.

The draw saw Leganes remain in the relegation zone on 19th position on 10 points in the league table.

Osimhen Misses Late Penalty In Lille’s Home Win Against Montpellier

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen missed a late penalty but it was not enough to prevent Lille from beating visiting Montpellier 2-1 On the Frnrch Ligue 1 on Friday night.

Osimhen had the chance to make it 3-1 after Lille were awarded a 90th minute penalty, but failed to find the back of the net.

He had a hand in Lille’s first goal as he was fouled inside the box which led to a penalty that was converted by Jonathan Ikone in the 40th minute.

Montpellier were back on level terms thanks to Andy Delort who scored with 16 minutes remaining in the game.

But in the 84th minute, former Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches scored what proved to be the winner, to seal the win for Lille.

The win means Lille have now won four consecutive Ligue 1 games this season and are third on 31 points in the league table.

Following his penalty miss Osimhen’s goal tally for Lille in the current league campaign remains at nine.

Osimhen was on target in last week Friday’s 1-0 home win against Brest.

Dogo Set To Dump Sunshine Stars Over Interference

Sunshine Stars head coach Kabiru Dogo may dump the Akure club in the coming days, a source close to the gaffer has revealed to Completesports.com.

The source sited insubordination and interference in Dogo’s job at Sunshine Stars as the reason.

“Coach Dogo May quit Sunshine stars unless what is going on at the club now stop,”stated the source in a chat with Completesports.com.

“He is not happy with insubordination at the club as well as interference in his job.

“He has lots of interests from clubs but for the fatherly figure of club boss Tajudeen Akinyemi, which he is still considering. Infact he may not be on the bench for the club’s next game.”the source said.
